HULA/TAHITIAN DANCE COMBO - Ages 5+

All of the Hula/Tahitian classes are combo classes so that students can learn the dances of Hawaii and the
dances of Tahiti.  Included in the class is Hawaiian Praise Dancing, dances of the Maori people and a dance from
the Tongan people.  Old style Hula is taught and some chanting or Kahiko is included as well as the modern Hula
songs.  Along with the dances, Hawaiian culture and language is stressed.  Steps are taught using the Hawaiian
words for those steps and everyone learns some basic Hawaiian words.  We even sing a Hawaiian Praise Song.

Monday Night class is our advanced class for our advanced and solo dancers.  Friday Night class consists of all
level Hula/Tahitian dancers as well as our men dance group and Hawaiian drummers.  These two groups makes
    up our dance troupe.

Although we do not compete, students have the opportunity to perform for various public and private events
including Church Services, Luaus, Birthday Parties, Weddings, City Events (both in Tracy & surrounding areas)
and Senior Events.  All performances are done with a family style feeling and are for family style shows.

We DO NOT wear coconut bras,  grass skirts or skimpy costumes

All dancers wear traditional Hawaiian outfits when performing.  Girls wear a pink Pa'u skirt, Lokes Looks T-shirt,
and silk flower lei set for Hula performances.   A short or long ruffly Pareau (wrap skirt) is worn for Tahitian
dances.  Our men dancers and drummers wear traditional Lava Lava (similar to a male kilt) and T-shirt.

introduction to burlesque dance, bringing together a sizzling dance style with beautiful costumes, cool retro tunes
and a lot of sassy fun! Learn how to be a total glamour queen, how to walk and dance in high heels and how to
exude confidence and sex appeal! And of course, you'll learn all the fundamentals of burlesque dance! You'll
shimmy, shake, undulate, bump, grind, wiggle, jiggle, twirl and swirl your way through the classic burlesque moves
and the use of the “tease tools” such as boas, canes, gloves and chairs.   You will learn the art of the feather boa
dance, a sexy burlesque floor routine, sassy burlesque chair dancing, cane dancing and putting burlesque
dancing into a tease routine.  Not only will you walk away with a few new moves for the boudoir, you'll also get  a
    great workout!
